Laura Baldwin is a Clinical Psychologist with over ten years experience in working across a range of private specialist and public (CAMHS) mental health settings. She has a particular interest in working with young people and adults who have body image and eating disorder-related concerns.
Laura offers a warm and supportive environment that allows clients to talk honestly, and to feel heard and understood. Laura truly believes in the capacity of clients to make a positive change in themselves, and in turn, enhance the quality of their relationships. Her approach draws on a range of evidence-based practices that are designed to help clients identify patterns that may be keeping a person ‘stuck’. Recognising these patterns can allow a person to connect with healthier aspects of themselves, and invite more functional coping mechanisms to step forward.
Laura also recognises the importance of parent and family involvement to the healing and recovery process. As part of her interest in training and education, she has created and led various group programs for parents to increase parenting knowledge, confidence and skills. Laura has also provided consultation and certified Eating Disorder training to healthcare professionals in the public mental health field.
Through her years of experience working alongside clients and their families, Laura has seen that with openness, focus, and commitment on both sides; meaningful change is possible.
